Junk-Food Heaven

I think that the purpose of this reading, is to inform people that even though junk-food may taste good, or look better then many healthy foods in all actuality it is really bad for you. Also that sometimes junk-food may taste good occasionally, but in mass quantities it may make you feel sick. I think the audience the author is trying to target in general is all Americans, but mostly younger generations that have grown accustomed to fast food and poor eating habits. Some of the strategies the author uses to inform his audience that junk-food is not the healthiest choice, is talking about the chemicals that keep the food product preserved, the way even the sight of junk food made him feel sick to his stomach, and describing the taste in textures of the food in a negative light. My response to the authors essay is that most of what he rights is very true. Americans thrive on junk food, I mean think of all the fast food chains that extremely successful. The reason that they are so successful is because they are easily accessible and fast. Two things that Americans love, and that is why I agree with the author in the sense that Americans thrive on junk-food.
